The dry magnetic separator is a magnetic beneficiation machine for sorting dry magnetic minerals. It is especially suitable for the separating magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasting ore, ilmenite and other materials with a particle size of 3mm or less, also applied for removal of iron from coal, non metallic minerals, building materials and other materials.
As magnetic separators progress toward larger capacity, higher efficiency, and lower operating costs, some subeconomic iron ores have been utilized in recent years. Dry magnetic separators, including both drum and roll types, generally offer far more precise separations than wet magnetic separators. Dry magnetic separation is more controllable since the separation medium is air rather than water. Separating particles from one another is naturally easier without having to fight drag forces created by water.
